They're Sexy and I Know It.

I am happy a twitter follower brought this idea up to me. So thanks Jolan for the suggestion.
This has also been something I have always thought while playing League of Legends and may be the reason why I revert to Leona being one of my favorite champs that I tend to play the most. Don’t get me I enjoy Morgana, she is hot. Why is it that League of Legends needs to create these over sexual champions? Does it appeal to either gender wither they are a boy or girl? Do the designs make any sense what so ever? Either way, I will be covering a wide range of thoughts on this subject.

There was recently a character type tier list judging the League of Legends female champions. If this is a take on SaintVicious’s famous girl tier list I cannot honestly say. While I do find this particular list funny here and there some of it is kinda crude. I have to remind myself these are based off of champions and not human beings and find the light in it.

So why does Riot feel the need to create these over sexual champions? What is the actual point of having all these females show so much skin that they might as well be naked? Well I personally feel that when League of Legends was first created it was of course a way to lure males into the game. They had to appeal to a certain crowd and my guess is their crowd they were aiming for was in the teenager to early adult range. I don’t think they really thought this game was going to catch on as well as it has been with females.

I will have to hand it to Riot that over time they have toned down the sexual nature of their artwork. Meaning Ashe doesn’t have GG size boobs. Let’s face it, a woman with that chest size would have a difficult being an archer, let alone have good posture. Even with her rework she has a natural womanly figure and maintains a sight sexual look to her.

Riot even takes the sexual nature into their personalities. We see this in Eve, Miss Fortune, Janna, Cassiopiea, Sivir and, Morgana. We see this within their back stories and jokes. On the other hand we do have a couple of women who are strong by nature and so no signs of being overly sexual. These women are Leona, Kayle being the two honest ones that stick out to me right off the bat. I would honestly have to say the others sit somewhere in the middle. Please keep in mind I am not taking Yordles, Annie, Aniva and, skins other than the classic ones into account.
So what do I think? Does it really matter? Well, I do feel that we should see more champions like Leona who are strong and respectable women who just all around kick butt. Champions will still be released though that have this certain amount of cleavage and attitude to them because that is what the consumers what. I also have to go as far as to say that it is also due to the fact that the majority of art work is done by men. I would never say that the artwork is bad at all. Just that is how it is. Men see women in this certain image and this is the result of that.

What can be done to neglect some of this? Riot, hire more female artist! This isn’t the same group of people you are marketing to anymore. I am not saying that all girls should be covered and that cleavage is a no-no. What I am saying is mix it up! Give us more champions like Leona who are strong and fierce. Stop making champions like Sejuani who are from this frozen wasteland and wear a bikini. That doesn’t make any sense at all. Her breasts would get frostbite in no time along with all of her fingers and toes.
There are of course my thoughts though. So in such what does everyone else thing on this subject? I would love to do a follow-up down the road review what everyone says. I know some will agree and some will disagree. What kind of female champions would everyone like to see?

The game was created by horny males. /thread.

And I spoke to her about the subject than asked us to avoid on another and why. I could have just straight up gone off on her or talked behind her back. But, if I am going to say something I will say it to them. =) I even thanked her.

So, no I don't feel bad. I was nice in asking her straight up to just avoid me.

I didn't say anything about you feeling bad. But don't ask for public opinions on a website and expect not to like every person on it or post that is made regarding the topic.

Don't like the posts? BETTER DELETE THEM.

Oh by the way, before you delete this post too, let me create a valid argument.

So you aren't counting champions like Poppy, Tristana etc WHY? They are still females, you just sound like you want something to complain about because you had some bad experience with men and do not like the way your "interest" (shall we call it aka gaming) is portrayed when it is a predominantly male scene. Besides its a fucking game, it doesn't have to follow the rules of reality, then Blitzcrank wouldn't exist, Rumble wouldn't be in a fucking mech suit and none of them would have special abilities and just be normal people. I am here to play League of Legends, DOTA2 etc not Sims.

LOL

1) Didn't count the female yordles cause there is nothing sexual about them. They didn't fit into the topic. ;)

Don't worry. I am not going to remove this. Humored me a little. I was given the topic by someone and I wrote about it.

Thats cute. Yet some may be into them, they are still females, they may still have sexual appeals to some.
Don't assume, everyone has different tastes. I just felt like you approached this topic from the view of a stereotypical teenager who is horny and going through puberty, or an old creepy guy who lives in his mother's basement.

Most guys don't give care if the character looks hot or not.

I approached it from MY standpoint. I didn't say sexy was bad. I didn't say I was against it. Whatever people like is on them and I don't care. This was from MY standpoint and from what I have noticed over my League of Legends gaming period, twitter and whatnot. I also do not approach it on the view that you stated.

I never said sexy was bad, or stop. I merely talked about it.

I find this to be pointless.

So....my opinions on the subject got deleted? Nice.... :/

I simply stated the argument from MY standpoint without personally attacking anyone...after the blog asked for thoughts.

...and the obvious personal stabs are gone also, but that's probably better.

Last two cents, as I probably won't bother with a blog where my opinions will be deleted anymore...
reading this entry logically, it is written in a very MLA "persuasive" manner. Especially the comments about sexuality being immature-stage happenings, and the "strong and respectable women" being the more manly-portrayed, covered-up "less sexual" characters.

So that's why you will get comments such as Glorihole's.

P.S. Wulf would do nasty dirty things to the Yordles. There's a fetish for everything :)

I will admit that I meant to delete all of the posts and leave the original one. Without thinking I had deleted them all. So I will leave this last one up just for you.

My opinion?

Who the fuck cares ...

I play the game because its fun ... not because Morgana's tits flop around and hang out.

This is nothing new ... go back to Art from Greek's way back when ... They sculpted how they wanted man to be remembered ... now how they actually looked. We all want to be sexy and look sexy. Games portray how we would image a sexy female hero to be in a fantasy land.

You don't see me getting angry about Lee Sin ... Why does he need to look like he can wash clothes on his abs?

Does not matter ... Its a game.

You want more characters who are Strong and Fierce? Is Akali not strong? Or Katarina? Or Fiora? Maybe Ashe?
