The League of Girls.

I feel that some people may not have a firm grasp on what the League of Girls is about. So for my first blog I am going to explain in detail everything one should know about the League of Girls and it's history.

With everything there is always a history to it, either it be a joke or what have you. Long ago I played a game I believe all of us heard of called World of Warcraft. I played this popular game for many years and suffered from a lot of harassment and people wanting to give me gear. I saw this as a major flaw in my morals. I for one like to earn my way so when I say, I am the best it is a true statement.

So I decided I was going to create my own guild, and my own rules. With that i ended up running one of the largest raiding guilds for the server Area 52. After a long while and with the passing of my Mother it got to be too much. From raid leading to running a guild in general along with family matters I decided I wanted to try something new.

So I found myself on a role playing server. My time there was great and was fun, I became a member of one of the largest guilds that did everything from role playing, PVP, and raiding. Though, after a while I saw it again, people wanting to give things away or boost their accounts because of their gender. This honestly makes me furious. I parted ways once more and created my own role playing guild. Once again with hard work and dedication and with a reputation I had built on that server it quickly became large for the time it was together. Though something happened...

I decided that it was strong enough to stand on it's own two feet and slowly but surely I found my way onto League of Legends. Something I had never played before. It was truly a fresh start, and I was thrilled to try something new and work my way up from the top. Along the way people who would add me started to find out I was a girl. They acted as if we were aliens from another planet and when I make mistakes they never said a word. They acted like it was OK and acceptable that  my mistakes led to the downfall of the match. I did not find this OK.

I joined a clan called All Shall Perish, because it offered a chance at meeting some really great women. I wanted so badly to meet other girls in a game that is mainly just guys. I was happy for awhile, but due to the clicks and the guys who wanted to boost my ELO so I can look like someone who played this game, I ended up getting fed up.

So I ended up leaving (See a trend here?) and I started in DEC 2011 League of Girls. A place where I wanted girls to meet other girls and not have the pressure of men boosting girls and making it seem like they were the best when they can learn to get better at this game. At the start I did allow men to join... How could I create a place where it was so segregated from the rest of the League of Legends Community. It didn't seem right to me. For awhile it worked great, girls were learning and improving which made me smile. I was seeing guys HELPING girls improve as opposed to letting them do as they wanted and were only friends with them because of their gender.

Over time it started to fade, girls were turning and helping other girls which made me smile even more. This is what I wanted to see happen with this community because I knew inside it was there. Even if it was a rather large group of girls I was what people said couldn't happen. People said that a community of girls wouldn't work, that there would be too much fighting for it to sustain. They were proven wrong.

The mission started for League of Girls started to become a place where it wanted to help support and shape our League of Legends community. Helping it become a better gaming community for all. Supporting all casters and groups like DNG, I started to make League of Girls a place that could also be a Community resource. Where girls could go out and do all sorts of many things that weren't just LoGrls sponsored.

So today we find ourselves here in DNG, and why? Well, there are many answers to that question. I felt it was time for League of Girls to become a force that was too strong to reckon with and to do that we needed to get rid of our most negative image. The fact that we were still so segregated from the whole League of Legends community. After SK Gaming have LoGrls one of the most positive nods I believe they could give I think it is time for LoGrls to really shape up and become something that is strong and nothing will shake it foundations.

That is why we find ourselves now sponsored. While I believe we could still stand on our own I think this change might be for the best down the road. Of course if it isn't, then change will need to happen again. I have always said this: As long as my girls want me, I will always be there for them." I will fight on the front lines for each and everyone of them because they deserve a place that is free from the toxic that pollutes a portion of the League of Legends community. Sometimes that toxic is enough to make people quit, and that isn't right. I feel Riot Games has provided a wonderful game and it isn't fair that there are people who rather troll and hurt people when groups like DNG and LoGrls can stand up and help shape it.

So... Like I always end all my posts. Questions?

Proud to be a LoGrl. (: Best girl community I have ever been in, in my entire gaming career. I won't be leaving anytime soon, or at all, that's for sure <3 I wouldn't think twice before supporting and fighting for our community. I stand firm as a supporter and I am so happy to have met you all. We have one of the most warm hearted sweetest members and I would gladly recommend LoGrls to any girl gamer out there. <33
